The goal of the Olive Wood Project is to employ several men and women with part-time work.
Abouna Firas Khoury is an experienced and skilled designer and carver of olive wood items.
He learned to design olive wood items and to hand carve olive wood items during the 14 years that he studied in the Melkite minor and major seminaries in Beit-Sahour. After, Abouna left the seminary, he continued designing and producing hand carved olive wood items. Now, Abouna Firas is training the men of the parish in this craft.
Several families work part-time in the Olive Wood Project.
These items are available in the United States for a donation. They are not for sale. No item has been sold. Further, there are no plans to sell these items.
